2012 Global Game Jam Entry: Dawn State
Loading ...This is our 2012 Global Game Jam Entry “Dawn State” We only had 48 hours to create a game and The theme for this year’s event was an image of an Ouroboros. An ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. So, this is what we came up with, I hope you enjoy it as much as we loved making it. There will be two post mortems to come after we recover from sleep deprivation.

When we last met Rex, he was jumping and dashing his way through danger and adventure in search of Golden Frog Idols, but this time his mission is to retrieve something far more precious. Santa Claus himself has come calling, but he’s lost toys and gifts for all the world’s children and only our intrepid adventurer can save the day. Players will have to brave ice, snow and whatever else the Arctic can throw at you while finding every last present for Santa. Santa himself will be giving you tips and advice this time, as the eccentric and quirky Professor Watts is somewhat indisposed at the present time. Time is running short and Santa has the whole world to travel, but if there is one person who can help find the misplaced or lost, it’s Rex … and who knows, there might even be a present waiting with your name on it!
Pixel Quest
Meet Rex. He is an avid adventurer and treasure hunter who is tasked with finding the lost and forgotten, and this time he has been given the job of locating the Golden Frog Idols. Players will be tasked with clearing out over 40 varied and engaging levels, each designed to offer a new challenge as they work to recover each and every last idol. Along the way there will be obstacles to overcome, including lava pits, fields of spikes, falling debris and other traps synonymous with exploration and discovery. You'll also receive advice and tips along the way from Professor Watts, the eccentric researcher and historian who sent you on your journey, and who just happens to be more concerned with the idols than your personal safety … but then what would treasure hunting be without a little bit of danger!

Help Bimmin escape from this hungry dinosaur by jumping over stumps, hills and other obstacles while collecting powerups to increase Bimmin’s speed as he runs for his life. Can you help Bimmin survive to find his way back onto the road of life, or will he only find his way into the belly of the beast ...

You were a grunt amongst many, sticking to your orders to safely transport an artifact of unknown value from a hovel outside of the Baldoran Empire's borders. The mission was classified as extremely risky; traveling through the rugged Lupain country, known for its many dens of iniquity is crazy at best and suicide at worst. However no expense was spared for this mission, as the convoy was equipped to the gills with top-class soldiers, all provisioned with the latest and greatest Baldoran weaponry science could create. But no one expected the Lupain to be so well organized. A series of well-placed roadside bombs ripped through the soft underbelly of the convoy. Soldiers who could lift a gun where slaughtered. All you could hear were the screams of the dying and the endless howling of Lupain … too bad no one told us we were the decoy. You are the lone survivor.
